Why and what information do we collect about you?

Torch collects and processes personal information about you at the beginning of each business relationship which is necessary for compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations under European anti-money laundering regulations as well as US federal laws among others. In addition, we are required to keep up-to-date personal information about you in respect of any subsequent mandates. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, telephone number and date of birth. We also compile company and beneficial ownership information, all of which will allow us to identify you and your business. In addition, for employment purposes, as well as in order for us to fulfil our regulatory reference obligations, we collect and process personal information (including sensitive information) about all our employees prior to entering into employment contract. Finally, any business cards or other freely-provided-by-you and unsolicited personal information provided to us may be processed for legitimate commercial reasons. We are under a regulatory obligation to retain all such information including all transaction documentation and records for 5 years.

Will we disclose the information about you?

We will not disclose any information about you to any third party without your prior consent except to help prevent fraud, or if required to do so by law.

How do I access my information?

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you for free. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please write to us at the address under “How to contact us”. We endeavour to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate. If you believe that Torch is handling your personal data inappropriately you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (https://ico.org.uk/).
