There is a strong impetus from governments worldwide to create and/or improve and replace transportation and water systems.

However, emerging nation governments such as China together with the private sector in many cases, are leap-frogging more mature countries and models with next-generation efficiency  andan and integration combining new communications, energy supply, and transportation systems with industrial manufacturing and distribution logistics. Energy infrastructure in particular, continues to be the cornerstone of industrial development in emerging economies as well as a critical priority for OECD countries.
